Tom Ford Beauty - Fragrance Counter Manager - David Jones Newmarket

Date: Feb 15, 2026

Location: Auckland, AUK, NZ

Company: ELC Beauty LLC

Description

We are seeking a dynamic and customer‑focused Counter Manager to deliver outstanding sales, service, and operational results at counter level. This role offers the opportunity to take true ownership of the counter, driving personal sales performance and elevating results through influence, collaboration, and best‑in‑class execution on the floor.

As the face of the brand at point of sale, you will lead by example—bringing the Tom Ford experience to life for every customer through exceptional service, storytelling, and attention to detail. Working in close partnership with the Sales Manager, store leadership, and brand teams, you will contribute to the achievement of ambitious performance targets while ensuring operational excellence, a premium counter environment, and seamless day‑to‑day execution. This role is ideal for a motivated self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑paced retail environment and is passionate about personal development, brand representation, and delivering memorable customer experiences.

Many of our field executives and senior managers began their careers at point of sale and this first level management role with exposure to business planning, consumer insights, event management, customer relationship management and front line marketing will provide you with the all⁃round skills needed to progress further within the Beauty Industry.

Qualifications

What You Will Do

  • Drive strong sales performance, delivering daily, weekly, and monthly targets through a hands‑on, floor‑based approach.
  • Partner closely with the Sales Manager and Brand Manager to execute commercial strategies and maximise growth opportunities.
  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences, resolving concerns with professionalism and care.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, consistently modelling brand DNA, service excellence, grooming standards, and best‑in‑class selling behaviours.
  • Influence performance through collaboration and on‑floor coaching, without formal line‑management responsibility.
  • Take ownership of counter operations, ensuring premium standards across visual presentation, stock, testers, and merchandising.
  • Maintain strong commercial awareness through performance tracking, competitor insight, and accurate reporting.
  • Build productive relationships with retail partners and communicate brand updates and promotional priorities effectively.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a sales‑driven retail environment, ideally within prestige or fragrance.
  • A confident self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused setting.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse performance and identify opportunities.
  • The ability to influence, inspire, and collaborate without direct authority.
  • Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including evenings and weekends.
