Description

Summary

Responsible for the end-to-end design and fabricating of parts and components to support manufacturing needs. Combines CAD/CAM design with small batch, mixed production hands-on machining using CNC milling and slant bed lathes, welding, and troubleshooting of mechanical issues. Collaborates with maintenance and operations teams on improvements and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Mastercam, etc.
  • Ability to set up and operate manual and CNC(Hurco) machining equipment (mills, lathes, drill presses, etc.)
  • Ability to design and produce parts to precise specifications.
  • Create and send component drawings to 3rd party machining as needed.
  • Experience in small batch, mixed production environments.
  • Perform welding and cutting as needed
  • Fabricate and modify equipment, guards, and fixtures as needed
  • Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations on equipment improvements
  • Support equipment installations, startups, and modifications
  • Document work in CMMS (maintenance management system)
  • Assist with continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education / Experience

Technical degree, apprenticeship in machining or related field, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.

  1. Required Skills

Ability to design and machine end-to-end.

CAD/CAM software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Mastercam, or similar.

Experience with manual and CNC

Experience with welding and general fabrication

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Familiarity with CMMS systems is a plus
