Description
Operations Mechanic maintains, installs, modifies, and repairs all equipment used in Filling, Compounding and R&D. In addition, the position provides mechanical support to the Production floor through equipment set⁃ups and continuous improvement projects. The Production Mechanic must demonstrate agility and the capability to handle multiple priorities in all serviced departments. Ensuring all work is performed in compliance with Safe Work Practices, cGMP, Standard Operating Procedures, company policies and strategy.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and modify equipment to ensure maximum productivity and quality are achieved.
- Perform trouble shooting and repairs on manufacturing equipment (kettles, mixers, pumps, filling and packaging equipment, etc).
- Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Assist operators and fellow mechanics with challenges during set⁃ups, operation and troubleshooting of the equipment.
- Maintain the inventory of needed spare parts and maintenance records in CMMS
- Train operators on technical abilities of equipment.
- Perform installations and assist in validation of new equipment.
- Performs general mechanical tasks to meet both production and building needs.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors on quotes and project work
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: 2+ years college or technical school in maintenance/related field
- Experience: 1-3 years experience in industrial maintenance/mechanical field preferred
- General mechanical knowledge, including troubleshooting and repairing gearboxes, motors, pumps, bearings, and pneumatics.
- Must have strong communication, problem solving and multi⁃tasking skills
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbs
- Must have a good overall understanding of measurement units and basic math.
- Must have computer proficiency and ability to work with electronically controlled machinery and equipment
Pay Range:
The anticipated hourly range for this position is $28.00 to $32.00. Exact hourly rate depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Hourly range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to hourly rate, this position may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.
