POSITION OVERVIEW
The Global & North America Senior Manager of AVEDA Visual Merchandising & Marketing Strategy is focused on developing foundational and transformational Visual Merchandising and Marketing retail and brand strategies, tools and direction that accelerates AVEDA’s global transformation across all brick-and-mortar led channels – ie. salons, experience centers, specialty multi-channel partners, department stores and travel retail.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in designing and delivering physical, in-channel marketing strategies and campaigns, well-versed in creating holistic adjacency and schematic designs, leading creative and messaging seasonal planning, programming of key spaces and consumer touchpoints and rolling out complex campaigns and initiatives across a variety of retail- and service-oriented formats, especially for premium retail or beauty/wellness brands. This role will require a leader who demonstrates an entrepreneurial, growth-minded spirit, balanced across independence, collaboration and curiosity.
Embracing art and science, this role requires a marketing leader who can connect with a variety of partners, creating compelling, insight-led narratives and data-backed business and brand rationale. Partners will range from commercially- to- creatively-led audiences within both North America and across the globe (ie salon owners, regional and market teams, distributors, education, retail partners, finance, demand planning, global creative internal teams, stylists / artists, etc.)
DESCRIPTION
Deliver Full-Space Visual Merchandising & Marketing Strategy
Lead rollout and adoption of full AVEDA retail experience program across all brick-and-mortar channels throughout the globe, leading to incremental retail per customer transactions, new guest acquisition and artist and salon advocacy
Champion voice of the salon and artist to inform overall schematic and adjacency design on a continuous quarterly basis
Leverage sell-in and sell-through data to inform seasonal assortment layouts, varying across unique channel needs (e.g. salons vs experience center vs department stores, etc.)
Create compelling visual merchandising layouts and strategies that can fit the unique needs of haircare, skincare and bodycare retail, as well as professional services
Define and Scale Global VM/Marketing and Design Strategies
Develop global catalog of 3-Dimensional Fixtures and Styling Elements in partnership with Global Creative and Regional teams to support salon and store retail and service needs
Create high impact, easily adoptable toolkits for international partners that enable teams to execute with excellence, as well as deliver upon the North America salon and store visual merchandising and schematic needs throughout the calendar year.
Bring best of external trends, competitive movement and broader retail and service-industry inspiration to inform channel marketing opportunities that differentiate Aveda from competition and excite salon and store partners
New Product Launch Channel Forecast
Leverage merchandising and adjacency strategies across global channels to support 2-year outlooks of new product launches across hair, skin and bodycare initiatives
Partner closely with category marketing teams, broader channel marketing team, distributors, international regions and commercial teams to reflect program financial potential in key forecast stages
Budget Responsibility
Maintain responsible oversight of marketing budget established for program size and priority. Partner within Channel Marketing and Finance team to ensure on-time delivery of PO’s and invoice payments.
Cross-Functional Team Leadership and Collaboration
Provide leadership, motivation and ongoing partnership with international, salon, store and marketing teams across Global, North America and International resulting in strong collaboration and seamless execution
Qualifications
- Proven in-channel marketing experience in brick-and-mortar, retail-driven and service-oriented environments, with special focus on salon businesses, prestige haircare, skincare and wellness categories
- Demonstrated ability to develop human-centered marketing campaigns across a variety of channel types and formats
- Experience working across international and local, regional markets to shape vision and deliver execution
- Comfort leading cross-functional teams with partners ranging from creative, brand, marketing, finance and field
- Outstanding strategic, problem solving and thought leadership skills
- Excellent communicator, collaborator who is unafraid to take on new challenges and lead and influence teams toward delivery
- Strong ability to manage timelines, define milestones and maneuver through fast-paced, nuanced environments
- Capable of developing clear, high-impact creative briefs and guiding creative teams from strategy to delivery and impact
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects requiring synthesis of data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication, presentation, cross functional collaboration and relationship building skills are critical

Pay Range:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $89,500.00 to $147,450.00. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.
