The Role:
The Director of Vendor Management ensures that ELC Management, and the Ops Teams who have outsourced their service are aligned and maintaining a healthy & productive relationship. This individual ensures that performance data or other metrics provided by the partner are agreed upon and align with ELC's standards. The Director is meant to oversee the PO/Invoicing process in addition to contractual/relationship amendments; to track expenses and ensure they align with company goals/policy and our contracts. This role is an escalation point for discussions between ELC and the vendor, to ensure that all services are provided within set standards and help implement any process improvement. The Director also must act as a leader mentoring and providing guidance to the rest of the VMO team, either their peers or otherwise, as they are not only masters of their account, but of the program in general.

Description

This role is responsible for overseeing various efforts across the organization (Strategy, Governance, Value Creation and Procurement Effectiveness) and will help identify, monitor and report against the Indirect Procurement transformation and strategies.

This person is instrumental to create communication strategy to support IP related initiatives including change management and help build IP credibility across the organization. This person is expected to interface high level stakeholders and leadership team, and be able to effectively highlight risks, bottlenecks, critical path and resource constraints occurring within the organization. This person will also work closely with IPLT to bring standard best practices, increase efficiency and sustainability for the department.

  • Monitor and report against the strategies and goals of the Indirect Procurement area to achieve short and long⁃term value creation opportunities and deliver business priorities and targets, taking into account corporate culture, business needs and resource capability planning.
  • Responsible for implementing global/regional/local cross⁃functional projects.
  • Develop IP category process changes and aligning with the change management initiatives to support implementation.
  • Track and report on category strategies plans, SRM deliverables and monitor and report the Project pipeline activity progress.
  • Identify and introduce standard best practices and Operating procedures to set governance and consistency aligned to IP Policy to support efficiency improvements.
  • Lead the development of communication strategy and pathways to ensure clear understanding on critical activities across IP Organisation.
  • Develop news letter.
  • Support and prepare IP summit and supplier summit.
  • Maintain Action Lists and monitor deliverables.
  • Responsible for preparing draft documentation for key internal and external meetings.
  • Maintain and provide acurrent understanding of industry best practices and technology trends to team members and business partners.
  • Identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, and end to end process efficiencies. Work collaboratively with team members to prioritize and drive implementation.
  • Support the development and implementation of training resources for the IP global team and continued refresh and communications on the options.
  • Act as a change agent, helping to develop a strategic point of view within the Indirect Procurement team and with partners in the Brands and other functions. Train and develop the team to think more globally.
  • Very importantly, act as an "ambassador" for the Estée Lauder social contract, relationship and cultural values, and business ethics in dealing with colleagues, external partners, and customers. Recognize that operating within the Estée Lauder culture (the "how") is as critical as the delivery (the "what").

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent preferred, Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 9 years experience.
  • Required 5 years of experience in project management planning.
  • Engineer, Supply Chain, Procurement background preferred.
  • Successful track record of working closely with internal and external key stakeholders.
  • S2P process, policy and system / technical knowledge is highly valued for this position.
  • Expert planning and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to interact with teams across Regions, functional groups and stakeholders.
  • Track record of high performance in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform under demanding and aggressive timelines while remaining focused.
  • Lead the development of communication strategy to communicate IP policy and new initiatives internally and externally.
  • Develop newsletter and support IP leadership meetings as well as supplier annual meeting.
  • Excellent written, communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be a high energy and effective, hands-on leader, with strong business acumen.
  • Must be a fact based decision maker, pragmatic, resourceful, and proactive.
  • Must be resilient and decisive, with excellent problem solving skills and a strong team orientation.

Responsibilities:

  • Mange the relationship with customers to the EBS VMO team, including multiple executive level stakeholders
  • Own the resolution of escalated incidents, and report outcomes to the customer leadership team
  • Act as an Internal consultant on how best to utilize Managed Service Providers
  • Negotiate and operationalize change requests to the original agreements between ELC and the Vendors
  • Own and asses the value case of over $50M/yr USD per Service Provider
  • Provide detailed financial analysis with a firm understanding of the commercial standards within IFM Contracts
  • Be accountable for all 65 affiliate budgets for vendor spend globally
  • Act as single point of contact for both ELC and the Vendor as large relationship issues are examined
  • Lead large strategic initiatives, which will impact global operations
  • Ensure that each Vendor has all the tools and access it needs in order to perform each service agreed to by working with global ELC COEs in different practice areas as this person coordinates that effort.
  • Provide each Vendor with relevant usage forecasts to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Maintain routine requirements of both ELC and the vendor, such as BCP sign off and compliance sign off
  • Establish consistency in how Process Owners work with each Vendor, and how Vendors interact with ELC's EBS team
  • Collect and standardize all performance data from service providers to be in line with EBS global standards
  • Point of contact for any escalation discussions regarding vendor SLA changes/updates, or process improvements plans, either as a part of incident management or to increase efficiency
  • Align service delivery with the broader EBS Service Management team both in presentation and performance standards
  • Mentor and aid coworkers helping to ensure a consistent service across the portfolio
  • Manage one or several direct reports as the roll may require delegation and direct people management

Requirements:

  • 5+ plus years of relevant work experience in Facilities Management, procurement, finance, strategy
  • 5+ years within a shared service organization
  • Extensive Experience with Project Management
  • Experience and familiarity with All aspect s of Manufacturing, Distribution, Warehousing and Office facilities.
  • Knowledge of the CPG industry
  • Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills required. Must be an Excel expert
  • Requires strong problem solving, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills. Must be an PowerPoint expert
  • Experience with budget development, management and accurate estimation skills are imperative
  • Position requires strong leadership skills and previous experience in managing a complex process
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills necessary.
