Description

This position encompasses all maintenance functions necessary to ensure efficient plant operations. This includes optimization of overall equipment efficiency, throughput, and strict adherence to safety policies/procedures.

This role provides technical guidance, training and coaching to other maintenance team members, etc. This position will perform a variety of tasks which include setting-up equipment, troubleshooting, equipment repair maintenance. Assisting with line trials and supporting the preventative maintenance program to mitigate repair costs and unscheduled interruptions to the business.

 

The Maintenance Technician must demonstrate agility and the capability to handle multiple priorities in all serviced departments. Ensuring all work is performed in compliance with Safe Work Practices, cGMP, Standard Operating Procedures, company policies and strategy.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical or electromechanical maintenance within a high-speed manufacturing or packaging environment
    • Strong Mechanical knowledge, including troubleshooting and repairing gearboxes, motors, pumps, bearings, and pneumatics.
  • Education: Technical diploma in industrial maintenance, Mechanical technology

      or a related field (Diploma Be specific) Mech + Electrical

  • Competencies: 
    • Technical: Proficiency in the following: Shop Machines and Equipment, Pumps and Piping, Power Transmission, Welding and Rigging, Technical documents/drawings, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, Lubrication, Automated Equipment/Basic Industrial controls/Basic robotics, Knowledge of safety responsibilities (legal and company procedures)
    • Advanced mechanical skills (i.e. ability to analyze mechanical breakdowns and arrive at appropriate solutions), skill in using machine and hand tools, equipment and measuring devises
    • Computer skills – ability to set up and adjust electronically controlled machinery and equipment
    • Communication / Interpersonal: English language proficiency; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to resolve issues in a tactful and diplomatic manner, communicate expectations and outline maintenance requirements / train both technical and non-technical personnel
