Position Summary
The Advanced Technology team drives upstream innovation by integrating cutting-edge biology, molecular science, and consumer insights to shape the future of skincare. The Associate Scientist will contribute to exploratory research, foundational laboratory work, and early-stage technology development that bridges science with brand storytelling. This role requires strong laboratory skills in molecular biology and cell culture, alongside the ability to connect scientific discoveries with consumer-relevant narratives that can inform product innovation and strategy.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory research: Perform molecular biology, nucleic acid isolation, and mammalian cell culture to support early technology development projects.
- Support upstream innovation: Partner with senior scientists to explore novel pathways, biomarkers, and actives relevant to skin biology and longevity.
- Analyze and interpret data: Generate, analyze, and summarize experimental results, contributing to mechanism-of-action insights.
- Bridge science with storytelling: Translate technical data into consumer-relevant insights and help craft narratives that inspire innovation across brands.
- Market awareness: Maintain awareness of the skincare and wellness innovation landscape to guide research priorities and identify disruptive opportunities.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Engage with formulation, clinical, and claims teams to ensure smooth knowledge transfer from upstream research to downstream applications.
- Documentation & compliance: Maintain high standards of lab documentation, safety, and compliance with company SOPs.
Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of laboratory research experience (academic or industry). Background in skincare, cosmetics, or healthcare a plus.
Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques, nucleic acid isolation, and mammalian cell culture.
- Ability to critically analyze experimental data and present findings clearly.
- Understanding of skincare science and consumer trends.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills to bridge scientific discoveries with consumer relevance.
- Independent problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced innovation environment.

Pay Range:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $60,000.00 to $75,000.00. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
