Description

The purpose of this job is to perform evaluation/testing for Ingredient Transformation, Alternate source qualification and Requalification raw materials. This testing includes standard test methods and evaluation of physical attributes of raw materials that require the ability to make decisions on subjective tests (color, odor, and appearance).  This job is essential to support Global supply chain issues as well as very vital for supporting Ingredient Transformation, Requalification’s and the Alternate Sourcing Program, all key initiatives for the company for business continuity and cost savings mitigation. Also responsible for maintaining and updating raw material specifications and process associated change controls.

Independence of Action and Accountability:  Works independently with minimum supervision to complete evaluation of raw materials (60%).

Problem Solving:  Evaluates raw materials using appropriate tests and results for acceptability (20%).

Decision Making:  Recognizes critical analytical issues and informs supervisor so that issues can be addressed (20%).



Qualifications

  • University Degree (BA or BS) in Chemistry or relevant scientific field, 2 years experience.
  • Must have a solid understanding and hands - on instrumentation experience using analytical techniques such as HPLC/UPLC, GC, ICP-OES/MS, UV-Vis, FTIR, Viscometer, Karl Fisher, pH Meter, Colorimeter, Melting point/Drop Point, Density meter, Refractometer etc.  
  • Will be required to run wet chemistry/Physical attribute tests.
  • Must be familiar with USP/NF, FCC, AOCS and other compendial monographs.
  • Knowledge of ASTM, and ISO standards is preferred.
  • Must have strong knowledge of FDA Regulations, ICH Guidelines, cGMP/cGLP, GDP and Data Integrity guidelines.
  • This position requires excellent communication skills to discuss and explain test results to management, and ability to work independently as well as in team environment.  
  • Experience working in a regulated environment is a plus.

 

 

 Pay Range:

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $78,000.00 to $93,000.00Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
