Description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
The Director will help drive the strategic vision for Global Communications, leading innovative and disruptive earned media strategies that elevate the brand’s global presence and strengthen equity. This role will oversee key campaigns, brand purpose initiatives, and internal spokesperson engagement, ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams. The Director will also partner closely with regions to ensure success of all Global Communications priorities and initiatives across markets globally.

 

Earned Media Strategy

  • Oversee earned media strategy to drive best-in-class programs for new product launches, key selling moments and evergreen programs.
    • Lead 360 communications strategy, including ideation, conception and execution of launches and programs that deliver strong earned media value while also maintaining brand equity and protecting brand luxury positioning.
    • Oversee the development of Global Communications briefs, asset checklists, go-to-market toolkits, regional guidelines and playbooks
    • Manage asset creation and guidelines for all launches including event guidelines, press releases, spokespeople Q&As and product presentations.
  • Manage EMV platforms such as Tribe Dynamics and Launchmetrics for quarterly reporting and event/program specific reporting on KPI performance
  • Collaborate with Director Global Talent and Partnerships to ensure synergy with celebrity, influencer and ambassador strategy and output.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of earned media strategies and initiatives

Spokespeople & Ambassadors

  • Manage internal Global spokespeople as required based on program, including ambassador requests for interview and in-person appearances; liaise with market to manage their proposals, brief/prep ambassadors and travel into market with ambassadors as needed

Scientific Credentialing

  • Lead the development and execution of the brand’s scientific credentialing strategy, ensuring all product and brand communications reflect La Mer’s science-driven authority and innovation
  • Continue to push the brand’s scientific storytelling, shaping consistent, credible messaging across global initiatives through innovative new partnerships and spokespeople
  • Manage relationship with Salk Institute and calendarize messaging angles to support our partnership throughout the year

Events

  • Lead and deliver 1-2 global tentpole activations per year, including but not limited to brand image and science credentialing moments
  • Oversee project briefing, content development, budget and project management, including external agency and internal cross-functional partner relationships

Region/Market support

  • Support regional and local market Communications strategies
  • Partner with Regions/Markets to ensure they have the tools and resources to execute, and drive earned media locally
  • Oversee and coordinate international editor / influencer visits to Lab/Spa de la Mer on behalf of markets
  • Assist markets with ad hoc asset requests 

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Communications, Media Relations, Influencer Marketing and Event planning
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field
  • Experience in a global role managing high profile brand ambassadors and developing disruptive earned media strategies
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to own and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal/written communications and presentation skills
  • Detail and process-oriented, organized, resourceful and proactive
  • Collaborative and positive team player
  • Strong understanding of social media across all platforms
  • Ability to accommodate early morning or night calls with international markets (2-3 hours/month); travel to markets (2-3 times/year)
  • Strong PowerPoint skills; proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel; can work on both MAC and PC

Pay Range:

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,000.00  to $208,000.00. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program as well as participation in the share incentive plan. In addition,
