Description

The Estée Lauder Companies is seeking a strategic and dynamic Executive Director, Global Communications, to help shape and amplify the voices of our senior leaders. Reporting to the SVP, CEO Communications, and working in close collaboration with the Global Communications team, this role will help drive executive visibility, thought leadership, and stakeholder engagement to reinforce the Company’s reputation, business momentum and transformation.


The Executive Director will serve as a trusted thought partner to craft compelling messaging, ensuring clear, cohesive and impactful storytelling across all spokespeople and platforms. This person will also be responsible for delivering strategies that identify high-impact opportunities across internal and external stakeholders, to position our leaders at the forefront of the beauty, business, and cultural conversations shaping our industry.


This highly strategic yet hands-on role requires exceptional writing, editorial judgment, and media acumen, combined with a deep understanding of the global business and financial landscape. The ideal candidate brings sharp strategic thinking, executive presence, and proven experience supporting executive positioning.


Key Responsibilities

 

Executive Visibility & Thought Leadership
 •   Partner with Global Communications to develop and execute global executive communications strategies for the CEO and senior leaders.
•    Craft compelling speeches, talking points, briefings, and digital content that advance Company narratives and leadership perspectives.
•    Help identify and secure high-impact speaking engagements, media opportunities, and thought-leadership platforms that showcase executives’ vision.
•    Enhance executives’ digital and social presence to engage audiences with authentic and impactful content.

 

 Media Relations and Reputation Building
•    Collaborate with Global Media Relations to align strategies and messaging across earned media, thought leadership, and external engagement opportunities.
•    Coordinate executive participation in media interviews and oversee briefing process, including the development of messaging frameworks and briefing materials.
•    Support media coaching and preparation for senior leaders, ensuring consistency, clarity, and impact.
•    Assist with quarterly earnings and business milestone communications in partnership with Media Relations and Investor Relations.


Strategic Planning & Cross-Functional Leadership
•    Collaborate with Investor Relations, Legal, HR, Brand, and Regional teams to ensure messaging consistency and alignment with company priorities.
•    Develop executive communications strategies to amplify and reinforce the company narrative across internal and external stakeholders
•    Monitor industry trends, media coverage and public sentiment around business trends, as well as stay on top of Fortune 500 benchmarks to inform future communications strategies.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field required.
  • Experience: 8–10+ years in executive communications, corporate communications, or financial journalism.
  • Travel: Up to 5%

 

Skills & Attributes:

  • Exceptional writing, messaging, and storytelling skills for executive audiences.
  • Experience working with and advising C-suite executives in a corporate or agency environment.
  • Strong strategic judgment and ability to distill complex topics into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Ability to work well under time constraints and with quickly shifting priorities.
  • Collaborative mindset and comfort working cross-functionally with legal, investor relations, and media relations teams.
  • Executive presence, high emotional intelligence, and strong media instincts.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Background in corporate strategy, business communications, or financial storytelling preferred.
  • Experience in beauty, luxury, consumer, or CPG industries a plus.
  • Strong understanding of global markets, cultural nuances and shifting geo-political forces
  • Passionate about storytelling

Pay Range:

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $188,150.00  to $188,150.00. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program as well as participation in the share incentive plan. In addition,
