Description
The Manager, Global Packaging Development is a technical and business leader responsible for delivering complex packaging programs while strengthening organizational capability across Packaging Development. This role combines deep technical expertise with commercial thinking, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to develop people to successfully bring innovative packaging solutions to market.
The Manager independently leads multiple packaging development programs across one or more brands or product categories while partnering closely with Marketing, Design, Product Development, R&I, Brand Value Chain (BVC), Global Supplier Management (GSM), Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Sustainability, Material Science, Package Testing, and supplier partners.
This role is accountable for translating business strategy into technically robust packaging solutions that protect brand identity, enhance the consumer experience, improve sustainability, optimize total cost of ownership, and accelerate commercialization.
The Manager serves as a technical leader within Packaging Development by influencing cross-functional decisions, coaching less experienced developers, driving continuous improvement, and building organizational capability.

- Lead Packaging Development activities across multiple projects, brands, or product categories.

Qualifications
- Education/Certification: Minimum BS degree in Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Materials Engineering, or a related technical discipline.CIPT or IOPP certification.
- Direct Experience: 5 + years experience in cosmetic package development.
- Experience in beauty or related industry with proven development experience.
- Proficiency in computer systems including Unique Package Definition Systems, MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Timeline management systems. Technical Competency
- Technical competency in analysis of geometric objects in 2 and 3 dimensions including understanding of clearances, fit and finish of packaging components and subcomponents.
- Knowledge of materials used in the construction and manufacturing of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging including but not limited to: Injection molding, Extrusion molding, Metal forming, Glass forming, Vacuum forming, Assembly of components, Dispensing systems (Pump, Airless), Folding carton and rigid box design.
- Knowledge of decorating techniques and materials used on primary, secondary and tertiary packaging.
- Knowledge of test methods used to validate component/package performance.

Pay Range:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $87,550.00 to $143,800.00. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
