POSITION OVERVIEW

The Manager, Planning is responsible for developing account inventory and sales strategies that drive retail growth, optimize inventory levels, and achieve shipment goals. This role partners closely with Account Leads and retailers to manage stock and sales plans, forecasting, inventory health, and replenishment strategies. The position serves as a key advisor on account performance and planning initiatives, ensuring the right products are available in the right locations at the right time.

Reporting to the Head of Account & Sales Planning, this role also partners closely with Account Leads to support business objectives through data-driven planning and analysis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning & Forecasting

  • Develop annual budgets, retail sales forecasts, and shipment plans.
  • Create and manage seasonal stock and sales plans.
  • Build monthly and weekly inventory flow plans.
  • Identify risks and opportunities impacting financial targets.
  • Partner with retailers to align inventory and sales strategies.

Business Management

  • Monitor account performance and reforecast as business conditions change.
  • Analyze sales trends, inventory levels, and key performance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales, service levels, and inventory productivity.
  • Support launch planning and replenishment strategies across retailers.

Inventory Management

  • Manage inventory levels to support retail sales objectives while minimizing returns.
  • Monitor weeks of supply (WOS), inventory turns, and service levels.
  • Oversee phase-in, phase-out, and return management processes.
  • Recommend opening orders for new retailers and store locations.

Allocations & Execution

  • Optimize product allocations for launches, holidays, and promotional activities.
  • Communicate launch quantities, shipment timing, and inventory priorities.
  • Ensure retailers follow inventory and fulfillment processes.

Reporting & Collaboration

  • Partner with Account Leads on account strategy and business analysis.
  • Maintain planning tools, reports, and inventory tracking documents.
  • Prepare retailer planning materials and support ad hoc business requests.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial planning, demand planning, inventory planning, or stock and sales planning.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
  • Experience with forecasting, replenishment, inventory management, and retail planning processes.
  • Knowledge of inventory metrics such as WOS, inventory turns, and service levels.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

 Pay Range:

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $87,550.00 to $143,800.00Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
