Description

The Manager of Portfolio Strategy role sits at the intersection of strategy and marketing, supporting the Vice President, NA Portfolio Strategy and North America leadership team by leading market channel analytics and forecasts to understand channel/retailer trends and inform the Region’s Strategy.  Additionally, the role includes developing the strategic blueprint for NA ELC portfolio supported by in-depth innovation and category/ subcategory analyses, and marketing financial planning.  This role requires strong analytical and storytelling capabilities as well as gravitas to present to senior executives in the Region.


Key Accountabilities
Support the development of the North America strategy presentation in collaboration with brands, functions, the North America Strategy team and North America leadership:

  •   Lead overall NA strategy development process and coordinate with NA brands and functions, and with Corporate Strategy
  •   Lead specific sections of the strategy development and presentation
  • Ensure proper communication, understanding and alignment on the Strategy across stakeholders

Lead development of North America strategic blueprint, analyze innovation, and identify Big Bets marketing programs:

  • Perform in-depth SKU level analyses of innovation, category/subcategory, and marketing financial plan across all brands in ELC portfolio to inform Regional blueprint
  • Identify Region’s Big Bets marketing programs and determine sales and investment gaps / opportunities to achieve blueprint; develop annual top marketing programs report to track performance
  • Manage brand calendar planning and create portfolio marketing calendar; communicate portfolio calendar with key stakeholders across Region

Support in the execution of the North America strategy and Corporate transformation initiatives in the Region:

  • Help translate the strategy into action plans (including identifying / prioritizing / staging key initiatives and developing KPIs) to support business-led change across ELC portfolio
  • Lead regional implementation of global marketing transformation projects and be a change champion 

Support in key milestone Corporate meetings and Business planning by:

  •  Provide input into key milestone Corporate and Business Planning meetings – eg, Global Category strategies, Cross Brand and Functional Business Alignment meetings

 

Qualifications


•    BS in quantitative or business management field
•    5-7 years of experience in a strategic / analytical role with combination of strategic vision and analytical skill with practical project management and execution skill – top flight Consulting or Consumer / Retail / Marketing / Transformation preferred; MBA preferrred but not required
•    Understanding of the Consumer / Retail / Beauty industry and requirements; interest / passion for Brand and Product Marketing
•    Strong intellectual capital and curiosity paired with strong emotional intelligence and “servant leadership” to drive complex change efforts and results through influence and relationships
•    Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills (expertise in Excel, modeling, and ideally in more advanced tools) with ability to synthesize large amounts of data into meaningful insights and recommendations
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal, written and visual) with ability to focus on key business questions and convey messages clearly and concisely (including to senior audiences)
•    Strong problem solving skills; pro-activeness in identifying challenges and finding solutions
•    Ability to work independently but also to manage / interact effectively with multiple stakeholders (including senior stakeholders)
•    Be able to multi-task, quickly ramp up and manage multiple different topics in parallel, effectively prioritize work, coordinate across multiple stakeholders, and proactively find solutions to address business issues
•    Positive mindset and eagerness to learn and drive value
•    Mastery in all Microsoft applications (esp. Excel, PPT, Word); knowledge of Power BI a plus

 

Pay Range:

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $87,550.00  to $143,000.00. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program as well as participation in the share incentive plan. In addition,
