Description

Whitman Laboratories is seeking an experienced and driven Techinical Team Leader (Night Shift) to lead a team of Production Maintenance Technicians and Electricians in delivering a responsive, reliable, and efficient engineering service to our Manufacturing and Assembly Operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strong people leader with a background in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, or a regulated production environment. You will play a key role in driving equipment reliability, continuous improvement, operational performance, and the development of your engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of Maintenance Technicians and Electricians, managing performance, attendance, training, and capability development.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained throughout its lifecycle, driving planned preventative maintenance activities and minimising downtime.
  • Provide responsive engineering support to Manufacturing and Assembly Operations, ensuring priorities are managed effectively and customer needs are met.
  • Drive continuous improvement, LEAN initiatives, waste reduction, equipment enhancements, and engineering projects that improve operational performance.
  • Support site KPI delivery by maintaining high standards of safety, quality, GMP compliance, and engineering excellence.
  • Build strong relationships across departments, providing expert technical support and promoting a proactive, customer-focused engineering culture.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience within a cosmetics, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or production environment.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience within an engineering or maintenance function.
  • Strong people management skills, including performance management, coaching, attendance management, and team development.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience prioritising workloads and managing engineering resources effectively.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and operational excellence.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, GMP, compliance, and engineering best practices.
  • Good IT skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
