Position Summary

Supply Chain in ELC is complex and is subject to significant growth year on year. This role leads the strategic procurement for the company’s supply chain logistics and Online which is inclusive of Logistics, Distribution, and Online to deliver sustained value.

The role has direct leadership responsibility for Asia team. The role is required to drive transformational change in the supply chain logistics sourcing activities, including managing diverse business needs, diverse services (including fully outsourced to hybrid models), significant change management issues and language/cultural differences across various regions and countries. The role should bring significant experience in driving transformational change in global and APAC supply chain activities, including outsourcing, footprint optimization, supplier consolidation, etc. The role must demonstrate capabilities to drive large scale/transformational change in the Logistics Sourcing area and demonstrate knowledge of leading-edge capabilities in the Supply Chain arena. The individual will be responsible for building and leading organization’s APAC Logistics sourcing function and share end to end accountability for distribution and transportation services and customer experience for all sectors.

The role is responsible to develop and leverage effective business and professional relationships with global commercial leadership for all portfolio areas, Supply Chain leadership, Online Leadership, and Finance leadership. This role is responsible to lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives in the supply chain portfolio in support of global and regional transformation & growth of ELC.

This role is expected to build the talent base in the supply chain portfolio procurement organization, further developing internal talent and attracting additional world class competencies to build and develop a team to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

This role collaborates with stakeholders to ensure ELC implements the optimal supply solutions to support ELC Supply Chain Strategy. This individual owns the regional category strategy for supply chain and related sub-categories to leverage ELCs scale and position in the market. They embed and deliver the category strategy through effective leadership of a team of subcategory managers and through strong collaborative engagement with business partners and major preferred suppliers.

In turn the responsibility is clear to ensure optimal cost, quality, service & risk mitigation solutions are implemented for ELC.

Job Description

60%Strategy and Sourcing Delivery Globally and Regionally

  • Contribute to Strategic thinking and development of sourcing plans, and their implementation in the region.
  • APAC Category Management for Logistics/Warehousing (DC’s, Cross Dock, Project Warehouses, e-commerce fulfillment) and all modes of Transportation (Air, Ocean, Trucking, and Parcel)
  • Support the build of the Category FY plan and deliver on it with regional and affiliate resource support
  • Deliver year on year 3-5% cost reduction in the category. Delivery will be through a mix of OPEX, and COGS.
  • Shape and lead RFX process for Logistics and Distribution services including e-commerce fulfillment. Ensure alignment with key stakeholders on approach and desired outcome.
  • Plan and execute market events (bidding, price negotiation, etc.) to achieve strategic goals
  • Actively drive compliance of the category strategies and sourcing projects with the ELC Indirect Procurement Policy, Directive, Guidelines and local Procurement SOPs as well as legal and regulatory requirements
  • Leads execution of indirect procurement strategies for the Logistics and Distribution services within APAC; Partner with global Logistics and Distribution category lead, ensure regional and global strategies drive continuous value
  • Lead supplier risk mitigation in the region with key stakeholders’ alignment;Share best practices for all regional spend areas
  • Lift and shift best practices from other regions to APAC (and vice versa); Drive harmonized regional approach towards end-to-end sourcing practices
  • Continuously monitor external market conditions and understands their potential impacts on category strategies; Lead contract discussions with legal, implement contracts and capture them in the system. Leads supplier negotiations; Participate in special projects as requested. Ensure category contract compliance in APAC.
  • Monitor results, utilizing data reporting capabilities, against established global and regional KPIs; Interpreting the Supply Chain ELC strategy, develop regional Supply Chain Procurement strategy aligned and endorsed by Supply Chain stakeholders, Global category lead, and other functional leaders (as needed).
  • Build the regional category FY plan and deliver on it with global/regional and affiliate resource support; Deliver year on year 3-5% cost reduction in the category. Delivery will be through a mix of OPEX and COGS; Identify new opportunities to meet business needs and cultivating supplier relationships

30% Supply Chain Stakeholder collaboration

  • Review the existing supply chain categories and subcategories, analyzing contracts and buying processes end to end to identify what works well and where opportunities exist.
  • Clarify and document stakeholder needs
  • On repeat spend and projects, develop a range of options, costs and benefits & clear recommendations
  • Point of escalation in resolving supplier quality, cost, and service issues globally and regionally

10% Contribute to IP functional development, manage, coach and develop team

  • Support Global category lead and APAC regional IP leadership in developing the function
  • Provide feedback to IP personnel globally and across the region on input on Supply Chain projects and initiatives

Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • Demonstrate a depth of understanding in Logistics services (‘core’: 3PL / Fulfilment, e-commerce fulfillment services, omnichannel, Warehousing/Distribution; ‘good to have’: Freight Forwarders, OTR, LTL, FTL, Parcel Air Freight, Ocean, Inbound/Outbound) and
  • Skilled in Logistics and Distribution contracting terminology and establishing robust frameworks
  • Analytical & strong presentation skills, including MS Office suite (Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Proficient in ERP technology, preferably SAP ECC, SAP SRM, and Ariba Sourcing and Contracts
  • Experienced as Procurement lead on major Logistics and Distribution projects across a region or multiple countries
  • Demonstrated change leadership, successfully influencing global stakeholders at all levels
  • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry experience preferred but not required
  • Bachelor/University Degree or Equivalent with further education preferred in Business, Procurement and or Supply Chain. Engineering or technical background is advantageous
  • Professional certification in supply management or supply chain is desirable, e.g. from CIPS or Procurement Qualification may be an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills

    • Analyze category spend and its drivers by analyzing internal profiling, economic factors and costs to provide visibility of key drivers and prioritize.

  • Manage suppliers: Setting and measuring KPIs and establish meetings with stakeholders to keep improving results with suppliers
  • Understand business needs
    - Formulate short/mid/long term business requirements through communication with key stakeholders (Goals, Trends, e.g.) to guarantee that the strategy is aligned with the business
  • Advanced Degree and Professional Procurement Certification preferred (CPSM) preferred
  • 5+ years of Supply Chain and Procurement experience(Fulfilment/3PL, Warehousing or Distribution operations)
