The Consumer & Market insights Manager will drive Consumer & Market intelligence, perform ad-hoc consumer researches (both quantitative & qualitative) or desk research for Japan Brand teams, constitute decisive analytical insight, and provide timely reports at a corporate and brand level.
The role is also expected to control the governance of integrated Consumer & Market insights collected across each channel / category, and to play the role as a data hub and advisor on activities conducted by each affiliate team. Through these works, Japan Affiliate will have the necessary information to better plan and find the opportunities to gain market share.
Key Accountabilities (but are not limited to):
- Consumer research
- Conduct Consumer research (both quantitative and qualitative) upon understanding the business needs of Corporate/brand teams. From planning, designing research to analysis & implication.
- Consumer & Market Insight Analysis Execution
- Co-develop Consumer & Market insight projects to identify business needs
- Co-develop insightful reports and delivery of presentations that clearly and succinctly highlight the actionable insights combined with business implications/strategic & tactical options
- Provide consumer & market insight and brand evaluation, interpretation, and communication of results synthesizing key data and insights spanning multiple sources and types of data (including Market, Competitors, Consumer research etc).
- Insight Analysis Governance
- Integrate insights collected and optimize research activities across cross-functional teams
- Co-drive research leadership via owning the development and execution of breakthrough research strategies with cross-functional teams
- Advise the business how to use different research methodologies and market data in a most effective and efficient manner.
Key support expected in partnership with internal/external stakeholders
- Internal stakeholders: Affiliate Brand team, Global CMI
- External stakeholders: 3rd Party Research Agency
Coaching and Development:
- Proactively identify any areas of self-learning and development as necessary to strengthen capability required for success in the role
- Manage CMI consultant to support initiatives
- Attend corporate development programs as required

- Completed number of actionable analysis reports issued (CI/MI/competitor reports on key strategic priorities)
Additional considerations
- Work experience in Market research agency (Kantar, Ipsos etc) or FMCG Insight divisions (J&J etc)
- Experience in market & consumer data analysis/ consumer research
- Preferably knowledge in Beauty industry
