🎯 Job Summary

As a hands-on Retail HR Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in aligning HR strategies with business goals across brands and multiple retail locations. You’ll support store managers and regional leaders in driving employee engagement, performance, and compliance, while fostering a culture of excellence and inclusivity.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
• New Grads: Support to build strategic alliances with targeted beauty schools for New Graduates Program annually in the most effective manner. 
• Mid-Career: Collaborate with store managers to identify staffing needs and manage end-to-end recruitment
• Ensure smooth onboarding and orientation for new hires across retail outlets.
• Employee Relations & Engagement
• Act as a trusted advisor to retail staff and management on HR policies and conflict resolution
• Drive employee engagement initiatives and pulse surveys to improve workplace culture
• Performance Management
• Support annual and mid-year performance review cycles
• Coach managers on goal setting, feedback, and development planning
• Training & Development
• Identify skill gaps and coordinate training programs for frontline staff and supervisors
• Promote career pathing and internal mobility within the retail network
• Compliance & Policy Implementation
• Ensure adherence to labor laws, health & safety regulations, and company policies
• Conduct audits and support investigations when necessary
• HR Metrics & Reporting
• Track and analyze HR KPIs such as turnover, absenteeism, and employee satisfaction
• Present actionable insights to senior HR and retail leadership

🤝 Counterparties & Collaboration

This role requires coordination with:

• Senior Manager of Retail HR: Report Line
• Brand Managers and Commercial Division Leaders (mainly Area Commercial Executives): for headcount planning and performance feedback.
• Field Trainers: to align on onboarding, training effectiveness, and skill development needs.
• Total Rewards Team: for compensation benchmarking and incentive design.
• External Recruitment Agencies
• ECC Committee: for hiring approvals and budget alignment 

🧩 Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Japanese (Native) and English(Business level or above)
• 3–7 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a frontline/customer-facing environment
• Ability to travel to retail locations as needed
• Knowledge of labor laws, payroll, benefits and HR best practices for frontline employees
